Why choose a gripper from the manufacturer GD ?

GD's statement regarding the video:

"This video was made for those who are curious about the resistance strength of GD IRON GRIP grippers compared to COC (Captains of Crush) grippers. The advertised resistance of COC grippers is much higher than their actual measured resistance, while GD IRON GRIP presents its resistance levels more accurately. Since different manufacturers use different resistance measurement standards, this video was created to demonstrate the approximate differences in actual resistance strength between COC and GD IRON GRIP when measured according to the same criteria. If we were to compare based on the advertised resistance of COC, the final level of GD IRON GRIP would correspond to COC No. 2 (they stated the resistance as 195 pounds). However, when measuring actual resistance, it can be confirmed that the final level of GD IRON GRIP is stronger than COC No. 3. Some customers often ask why the resistance differs so much between COC and GD IRON GRIP grippers. Therefore, this video was created to show the resistance strength of GD IRON GRIP at each level and which COC gripper is comparable when measured according to the same criteria."

Comment under the video:

"I don't understand this. You are the official seller of the product, and you are telling us that what you advertise as 90 kg resistance is actually 77 kg? Are you trying to tell us that you were lying?"

GD's response to the comment:

"Thank you for your comment. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter. The purpose of this video was to objectively compare the resistance strength of COC and GD IRON GRIP grippers according to the same measurement criteria. Resistance strength varies depending on the position on the handle where the measurement is taken. Measuring at the very bottom of the handle requires less force to close the gripper compared to measuring from the middle of the handle, which requires greater force due to leverage principles. Since different companies use different measurement points, the indicated resistance force may vary significantly. For this video, we established a standardized measurement criterion to ensure an accurate comparison. We measured the resistance force at the very bottom of the handle for both products. This consistent approach allows for comparison across all levels.

However, the resistance force indicated in the product description for grippers, including GD IRON GRIP, is not based on measurements taken at the very bottom of the handle. Instead, our indicated resistance is based on a point approximately 2 cm above the bottom. This is because users typically hold the handle along its entire length, not just at the very bottom. We believe this measurement point better reflects actual grip strength.

For example, COC No. 3 is rated at 280 pounds (127 kg). It appears that COC measures from the middle of the handle. However, this approach can overstate the actual required grip force. Just because someone closes a COC No. 3 does not mean their grip strength is 280 pounds (127 kg). This creates a significant difference between the advertised force and the actual grip strength.

In the case of GD IRON GRIP, our indicated resistance reflects the measurement point slightly above the bottom of the handle, which we consider more practical and realistic. Therefore, the indicated 90 kg corresponds to this measurement point, not the very bottom.

We hope this explanation helps clarify any misunderstandings. Thank you for your understanding!"
