As a loyal GD customer I keep buying one product after another and train with them as a set. I tried the Twist Grip in soda mint for the first time yesterday and it is really good. The stimulation is as strong as with a hanging wrist roller and I feel it in several movements. From now on I will warm up my forearms with it before every workout.
GD TWIST GRIP - Wrist and Forearm Strengthener, Adjustable Resistance, Colour: Mint
Product detailed description
Set the resistance with a simple turn
You change the resistance by turning the adjustment cap. One full rotation adds about 13 kg (28 lbs) and the GD Twist Grip offers six levels in total. Level 1 suits women and seniors, level 6 those with stronger forearms. You do not need several fixed resistance trainers, this one takes you from your very first session to advanced training.
One trainer instead of four
Classic flex bars, the rubber bars used for wrist and elbow exercises, come with a fixed resistance. You have to guess which grade fits you and buy a harder one once you get stronger. The GD Twist Grip covers the range of four such tools at once, so you match the resistance to how you feel on the day.
Tennis elbow and golfer elbow
A twisting movement against resistance is the basis of the exercises physiotherapists use for an overloaded elbow, among them the Tyler Twist, wrist flexion and extension and forearm pronation and supination. Adjustable resistance matters most in exactly this kind of training, because you start very light and add load step by step. The GD Twist Grip is sports training equipment, not a medical device, and it does not replace a professional examination. If you are in pain or recovering from an injury, talk to your doctor or physiotherapist first.
Who it is for
Golfers, tennis, pickleball and badminton players, climbers, baseball players, strength athletes and arm wrestlers. It serves musicians just as well, along with people who spend the whole day on a mouse and keyboard, tradespeople and seniors losing hand strength. It is short and light, so it fits in a bag and you can train at home, at the office or while travelling.
Materials and build
The handles are made of high quality silicone with a deep spiral texture, so the trainer stays put even in sweaty hands. The resistance is created by a steel spring inside, the same principle as in a hand gripper. The load bearing parts are made of tough engineering plastic, the kind used for machine components, so the trainer handles the highest resistance level without trouble. It is made in South Korea and GD has specialised in grip trainers since 2001.

Please read before first use
- If the bar stops turning during exercise and will not go any further, do not force it. Turning it beyond its designed range can break the internal stopper shown in the picture below.
- Do not tighten the adjustment cap past the limit line. Over-tightening can damage the product.

- Adjust the number of repetitions and the intensity to suit you. Overdoing the exercise can cause pain, so please be careful.
- The bar works by friction between the parts in its centre section. It may therefore feel stiffer at first, which is normal. Release it with the same force and speed you used to twist it, and the movement becomes smoother with use.

View the original reviews on the manufacturer site ↗I already knew a hanging wrist roller is great for forearms and I own one, but setting it up always took effort. The Twist Grip is light and simple and the stimulation is more than enough. I can train my forearms anytime and anywhere, just like with a hand gripper.
I play golf and squash regularly, so I believe steady training with this will help my wrists and forearms a lot. I tried it at home in front of the TV and my forearms were pumped after just a few sets. It looks simple, but the workout is top class.
At the office and at home I can train my forearms whenever I have a moment. You need no weights and at a glance it does not even look like training equipment. I did a few sets and I am very satisfied. I ordered yesterday and it arrived right away. Fast delivery, good quality, five stars from me.
Highly recommended. A hanging roller would take up space and feel like a hassle, so I tried the Twist Grip and I am very satisfied. I will buy another one as a gift for my parents. Several reviews said the resistance is weak, so I thought I would use it only as a beginner tool, but for me it is plenty.
I usually train with GD equipment and this Twist Grip is the real deal. The intensity is easy to adjust and after a few repetitions at a lower setting I clearly felt the work spread evenly from my palm and wrist all the way to the shoulder. I always cared about wrist training but doing it with a dumbbell was boring. The Twist Grip is both fun and effective.
The resistance is weaker than I expected.
